Society in these days is too competitive. People try to come up with better results at work than other people and struggle to get higher position. For this reason, people today do not stop to take a breath. They just keep run to achieve better things at work. May be it is time for people to work less and relax using what they have got. More leisure time helps people to be more effective at work and find values they missed.
First, having more leisure time can help people to work more effectively. Working for too much time might end up with a bad result because people find it hard to concentrate on their work. Their brains get exhausted after long time concentrating and thinking. It is hard to think an idea or it might also be hard for them to make a proper sentence because their minds are simply numb. Not only exhausted brain, people also get tired physically. There might be pain in their necks and backs for a long time sitting. In these situation, having some leisure time is the answer because it give people some space to stay away from their work. It would energize them again and fresh their mind. Therefore, working less and having more leisure time is a more effective way to work instead of struggling with a job for a long time with no results.
Second, there are other values that should be appreciated other than working. Having a job, working at the office is important. It brings people money to afford their lives and could be a way to fulfill self-achievement. However, people could be missing other values in their lives like enjoying with their family, reading a book for oneself or taking a walk in the park. These are equally important as working because these bring happiness, joy or health to people's lives. There is a story of a boy trying to buy his father's working hour to have fun with him. It shows there could be much important value to other than working in an office.
Some people might say working hard is not a choice but a mandatory because people need to earn money for their living. It is true that people need economic support to live their lives. However, human do not live for the money, what they live for is happiness, love or romance. In other words, people earn money to survive in the modern society but the money is not the purpose of their living. Therefore people should stop being obsessing about working hard and let some parts go to have their own leisure time.
In conclusion, people should work less and have more leisure time to work effectively and find other values in their lives. Even a machine cannot run on full time and of course human need some rest. Besides, there are lots of things other than working that people should be enjoying and exploring. So, life would be much better if people have some time out and let go of their work for a while.
