Recently, a lot of people condemn hamburger as evil. Fast food has
been blamed, criticized and depreciated for a variety of reasons.
However, do people all want to eradicate fast food from the whole
world? Certainly we can't say fast food is the best option for our
health, but thinking about huge number of poor but hungry people
including students, part timers, and unemployed who inevitably eat
fast food often, fast food chains are somehow carrying out its duty to
provide moderate quality food for everyone. We still need fast food
for the world to reduce hunger and save modern people's time.
Firstly, Thanks to the great benefit of inexpensive price, fast food
saves a lot of people from huger indeed. In the survey of this year,
14% of American population replied that they ear fast food three times
or more in a week. 6% of whole population even manages their life
eating fast food every day. It does mean that fast food serves as an
essential part of their life, and they are not able to manage their
life without fast food apart from the question of quality. To whom
fast food is just an occasional meal it can be seen as just harmful,
but for people who eat fast food for survival it is desperately great
source to get minimum nutrition daily required.
Secondly, Fast food restaurants have very appropriate systems for
modern society. Now we live the time with piles of works which presses
people to be busy all the time. In fast food restaurant, we can be
quickly served and save time. Fast food restaurant cuts off huge
efforts to prepare and cook the meal. Regarding this efficiency, we
can say fast food chain restaurants very fits to our lifestyle. In
addition, single-person households are rapidly increasing, and the
person who lives alone generally hope to eat quickly and economically.
Therefore, Fast food is the very proper option for a lot of them, and
their spending for ingredients could be also enormously saved.
Fast food always raises concerns of health. This is the biggest reason
that fast food has been a target of severe criticism. However,
regarding of this issues, a lot of fast food restaurants offers
various menus including green salad, fruit juice and law fat-milk
based bread that are even healthier than ordinary meals. For fear that
they lost trust in customers, almost all of fast food chain
restaurants are engaged in more than one volunteer program, CSR
(Corporate Social Responsibility) or scholarship donation activities.
Along with it, we also see all kinds of creative efforts of fast food
restaurants to be connected with local culture by their localized
hamburgers and transformed ethnic food in their restaurants.
Therefore, it is too much to say that fast food restaurants are major
threat of our lives.
The world still needs fast food to rescue people from harsh starving
and provide efficient meals. Serving as a symbol of the side effect of
globalization, Fast food has been excessively devalued. Indeed, we
can't say hamburgers and French fries are ideal food. However, it
still remains as the tastiest and greatest option for someone. Since
fast food in on the way of evolution to be healthier and fast food
chains are trying very hard to clear their bad reputation, we are
still able to believe this fast and magical source of great taste.
