Plagiarizing a paper must be stopped

Recently, many events related to plagiarism are happening around us. One of them was the event that woman called 'mentor to twenties' plagiarized other's thesis. Many twenties who followed her advices were shocked to hear that news. She focused more on her degree than the value of honesty and she didn't do her best to get master's degree. This event showed us that plagiarizing a paper limited what one can achieve enough and encouraged the inversion of value. For these two reasons, plagiarism should not be done.
Firstly, plagiarism of paper limits one's creative development. A thesis truly works only if it contains one's creative logic. In the process of writing a paper, people have chances to expand their own logics and think more deeply on specific subjects. However, if they decided to plagiarize other's thesis, they stop thinking more deeply. Instead, they just pay attention to other's logic and consider how to take advantages of it. People can have more confidence while writing their paper because they expand and organize their thought during the process by themselves. Creative thoughts continuously cause great thoughts, which is based on one's confidence. Piling up their original thoughts, they construct their own thesis system. By working in this cycle, they can truly develop in their academic areas.
Secondly, plagiarism of paper encourages inversion of value. People have learned since childhood that cheating is ethically not desirable. People who plagiarized already noticed that plagiarism was not ethically desirable but they gave more priority to their success than ethical value, honesty. This is because they thought their success is more important and to succeed, they are permitted to do some mean things. This kind of phenomenon is called 'Inversion of value'. Not only they cheated other's thesis, but they go against their own conscience by plagiarizing. In fact, they play some part to construct unhealthy society. As mentioned in the first paragraph, it impacted society in the negative ways. Especially, if plagiarism is done by famous people, it greatly affects the society. It can make impression to the young that to achieve goals, any methods are acceptable.
It is helpful to refer other's thesis. To establish one's theory, basic knowledge is needed. Reading other's papers, people can criticize their logic and improve their thoughts. Moreover, it is acceptable to adopt objective knowledge such as statistical data in their papers. The important thing is whether it is other's original thoughts or not. If one uses other's subjective opinions or theories, that makes controversy and that becomes real problem. People whose idea were stolen would be very upset because someone lied that their original idea was not theirs but someone's. People who plagiarized passed the thinking process while writing their papers. Moreover, they ignored other's efforts in the papers. In conclusion, all of plagiarizing are just thefts.
It is ethically not right to steal other's goods and intellectual properties. For each individual, plagiarism disturbs one's creative development. For society, it spreads the inversion of value. People should pay justifiable cost to get what they want. Only if precious things are gotten through justifiable ways, they truly shine.

ReplyDelete1. What I like about this piece of writing is you've used the case happened recently on the introduction.
2. Your main point seems that Plagiarism should be allowed under no condition.
3. These particular words or lines struck me as powerful:
Words or lines:
the inversion of value
I like them because:
The reasoning itself was persuasive. Plagiarism itself might be minor issues. But, many problems can be derived from plagiarism. So, the inversion of value is a sort of many a derivative issue on it.
4. Some things aren't clear to me. N/A
5. The one change you could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is I was kind of confused to read your writing because of a tense. You used the past tense in many sentence in which you just could have used 'present tenses'.

ReplyDelete1. What I like about this piece of writing is that the introduction draws readers’ attention by giving an recent and well-known example. And the topic sentences of the body part are clear.
2. Your main point seems that plagiarism limits creativity, encourages inversion of value, and is simply theft.
3. These particular words or lines struck me as powerful:
1)Words or lines:
Creative thoughts continuously cause great thoughts, which is based on one's confidence.
I like them because:
It expresses well why we should think on our own.
2)Words or lines:
Only if precious things are gotten through justifiable ways, they truly shine.
I like them because:
I think it’s a good conclusion. I like the way you express it.
4. Some things aren't clear to me.
Everything is clear to me here.
5. The one change you could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is that :
I think there are some mistakes in grammar, especially in an article and tense. And it would be better if the third body paragraph had a clearer topic sentence like the other two body paragraphs.
Thank you.
