Lantern festival in Jin-ju is a good example of its decorating function so you can find the beauty of the light through this festival.
Lantern festival in Jin-ju originated from the ancient military strategy that contacted with the friendly troops across the river by using light at night. Local government in Jin-ju got the idea from it and started to hold the festival in 1949 to remind people of the ancestor's wisdom. Now, it is so expanded to the national festival that many visitors come to Jin-ju every October for it.
Then, what makes this festival so special except the historical base? First of all, that is lanterns. During the festival, you can find many kinds of beautiful lanterns near or on Namgang. Because most of them are made of Hanji (Korean traditional paper) and light spreads through it, the mood in the festival place is so soft and colorful. Also, the shapes are various enough to interest you from a simple lamp to a castle, ship and so on.
After you look around these lanterns, another attractive thing in this festival is waiting - hands-on programs. You can make your own lantern and float it on the river. In addition, when people in the traditional military clothes hold a parade along the riverside, you can join it freely. I think it is a good chance to have nice memories with your friends or family.
Recently, many kinds of the festivals pop up across the country. But not all are based on both tradition and entertainment like Lantern festival in Jin-ju. 5. The one change I could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is that it would be better if you focused more on the Lantern festival. Only two paragraph was focused on your topic. Other paragraph was not really about the Lantern festival itself.
