Though it is not a very complicated question, many people have difficulties giving answers when they are asked about what makes them happy. There are no right or wrong answers in terms of happiness. Everyone has their own definition of happiness. Although the meaning varies greatly from person to person, there are three major factors that generally contribute to our happiness: work, family, and leisure.

First of all, work is an important part of life that determines one's happiness. Work comes in many different forms. It does not necessarily refer to careers. It may come in forms of simple trivial tasks. For example, running the vacuum cleaner, fixing broken furniture, and cooking meals can all be considered as work. No matter how easy or simple a task is, it always gives people a sense of accomplishment. Sense of accomplishment makes people feel that they have managed to do their work successfully. Such satisfaction leads to elation and happiness.

Another important factor of happiness is family. Humans are social animals. People feel lonely when they are alone, and we care about ties and relationships with other people. Through such relationships and links with others, we often feel a sense of belonging. The strongest relational tie is one between family members. Since relationship with family members is the strongest among other relationships, the satisfaction that comes from it is also one of the greatest. Thus, maintaining a good family relationship leads to happiness.

Moreover, leisure is also a major factor that makes people happy. The definition of leisure is, 'time when one is not working or occupied; free time.' Such definition indicates that the whole purpose of leisure is to enjoy free time and to have fun. And the whole purpose of enjoying free time and having fun is to feel joy. Joy is a form of happiness. Therefore, leisure can contribute to happiness.

The definition of happiness is not the same for everybody. There is no definition that everyone can agree upon. However, there are three major causes that lead to happiness: the sense of achievement that comes from doing work, the sense of belonging people feel when they are with others, and the sense of joy people get from enjoying leisure. In conclusion, work, family, and leisure can lead to happiness.

    1. What I like about this piece of writing is the structure of the writing with a lot of useful and fluent expressions.
    2. Your main point seems to be there are a lot of factors to become happy, among them, she thinks work, family and leisure are important parts to be happy.
    3. These particular words or lines struck me as powerful:
Words or lines I like them because
    1) in terms of happiness
: Though many people know this expression, they don’t use it frequently. But she used it really naturally
    2) determine one's happiness
: I also thought that this expression is really useful and we can understand it easily
    3) tie and relationship
: By giving two words related to relationship, readers can read it more fully

    4. Some things aren’t clear to me. These lines or parts could be improved (meaning not clear, supporting points missing, order seems mixed up, writing not lively):
As I understood it really clearly because of a lot of useful expression and well organized structure, I didn’t have difficulty in reading.
    5. The one change you could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is nothing. Because I was really satisfied at her clear writing with well organized structure. And especially I was surprised at introduction. It is really neat and also really natural. So I don’t want to put or remove something in her writing.

    1. What I like about this piece of writing is that the writer talks about finding happiness through small things, not big ones. This part led me to think about my daily life and family that make me happy.

    2. Your main point seems to be that three major factors that generally contribute to our happiness: work, family, and leisure.

    3. Two lines struct me as powerful:
    - "running the vacuum cleaner, fixing broken furniture, and cooking meals can all be considered as work." : This sentence make me understand more quickly what the trival things are.
    - "The definition of leisure is, 'time when one is not working or occupied; free time.'" : By giving the definition, the meaning can become clear.

    4. In the 4th paragraph, "Joy is a form of happiness" is not clear to me. I would like the writer to explain the relationship between joy and happiness more specific.

    5. As I mentioned, the part of 4th paragraph would be better if it is revised.
