How to make drip coffee.
Coffee is the most famous tea in the world. So there are many kinds of coffee beans and brewing ways. Of all sorts of brewing ways, the drip filtration is thought to have the richest flavor. Hand drip coffee is extracted from one of them. There are three keys to making good hand drip coffee.
First, grind coffee beans right before you make coffee. It is because when you grind them, the surface of the coffee which is exposed to air is increased. This causes the oils that give coffee rich flavors to fly away quickly. If you don't have a coffee grinder, you can buy ground coffee at a store. However, you'd better buy only a little since stocking it at home long time does not promise good quality. And remember to keep it airtight.
Second, prepare a paper coffee filter of good quality. Maybe you want to buy a permanent coffee filter instead of a paper filter needing your hands everytime. However, if you use a permanent coffee filter which sticks to a filter basket, residues are collected between a filter basket and a filter. So you can have trouble cleaning it. So it is better to replace a filter for every brew for cleanliness. Put a paper coffee filter on a filter basket and ground coffee in the filter. Then put the filter basket on a pot.
Third, it is advised to use a full tablespoon of ground coffee every 8 ounces of water. 8 ounces are approximately the size of a regular take-out coffee cup. Then, boil tap water or purified water to around 92℃. Though some recommend to use distilled water, it makes coffee flavor flat. A minute after pouring hot water, ground coffee float on the surface. At the moment, you have to stir it with a teaspoon so that coffee can be brewed evenly. And wait only for 3minutes. If you wait more than 3 minutes, your coffee gets sour.
Coffee has been integrated into everyday life. However it is true that coffee which is sold at a coffee shop is too expensive for some people to enjoy good quality coffee. Yet, if you keep three of these keys in mind, you can relish the best coffee.
